Antico Caffè del Moro is one of Rome’s oldest venues, located in the heart of Trastevere, nestled between two of Trastevere’s most beautiful and ancient streets, in a magical corner steeped in medieval memory.
It is renowned for the quality of its culinary offering and the elegance of its setting.
The venue has been completely renovated from a 17th-century townhouse, to preserve—and even enhance—the romantic, welcoming atmosphere that has always set it apart.
The sign above the venue, donated by the Branca Brothers at the start of the last century, is made of hand-worked iron and painted with enamel paint; it is the second oldest in Rome. It depicts two Bersaglieri and a sailor offering a small glass of liqueur to some local girls. It dates back to the late 19th century, in reference to the Abyssinian War (1896).
